One of my favorite art forms has always been music. I spent most of my life listenting to music. I always wanted to make it a point to have the right song for every situation.
I love a wide range of genres including country music, jazz, alternative, metal, funk, classical, soundtrack, and more.
In the 90's, I enjoyed recording my new favorite tracks on the radio and writing down the lyrics to study them.
Once I got online, I learned how to make my own music at home and have been doing it since 2009. I haven't made it available to streaming sites, yet but, I use it in all of my multimedia projects.
When I'm working on a musical project, I tend to listen to my own music mostly but, when I'm not working on my own, I enjoy making playlists on Apple Music and discovering new sounds that I can be inspired by.
Some influences, that I perceive in my work, to be most influential overall, include:
George Straight
Rage Against the Machine
DJ Quik
Boyz II Men
Brooks & Dunn
Hanz Zimmer
Tijuana Sound Machine
Korn
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Dwight Yoakam
Art of Noise
Do you believe that there is a difference between listening to a drum sample and listening to a live drum kit? There used to be a time where that argument was over quickly. Technology, including microphones and software, only continue to thrust humanity forward into new dawns of the experience of sound.
However, what if I told you that, I believe that, there is an incalculable essence in the creation of sound. That, at it's absolute best, the drum sampling possibilities simply cannot replicate a live performance, and there is one reason specifically. Do you know what it is? There is an unspoken language between musicians and their listeners. Songs can be recorded and shared with others, like messages in a bottle. However, no true love would prefer it to the intimacy of a face to face encounter.
That level of humanity requires one of mankind's most basic needs. Community is how everything that thrives in our environment, usually does so. Ecosystems balance themselves and the plants and animals happily adjust. That is why children worry about clique behavior, why several large economies have international bonds, and it's also the main reason that many herd animals survive.
This can vary on any given day. You could even break it down by the minute if you were patient enough to find out.
For the most part, until I find a song that just moves me that little bit more than these do, I would update this list. However, until then, these may be the Top 5 Greatest Songs Ever Recorded.
We can discuss further but, I'm sick of social. I'm looking for another way to connect, preferrably without ads.
I'm working on a few long playing mixes. I don't want you to just shuffle through my album on your phone. Some projects are meant to be experienced in chronological order. The sequence matters. It has meaning.
Sure, we've been selecting Singles for as long as we've been recording but, before digital, we valued them as parts of a collection. Singles were like bookmarks, from your favorite book. You couldn't just shuffle the chapters around. They progressed the story sequentially. Like a director on a film, the each song drove the album concept forward.

So, ever since music became more business than art, our attention spans have shrunk, and most modern music feels either, gimmicky or inauthentic. Even if you do strike a chord, they don't want your 6 minutes. If you get 15-45 seconds, now , you're lucky. Not to mention, most LP's could go easily into the 1-2 hour range. Listening to an album was an event.
So, no. My music is not available on your favorite stream service. I know how easy it would be for you, too. I'm sorry. However, I can make it available to you in other ways, and do you know what? If you just wanted to use it to make videos on social, I could send you something if you ask. I have more than 100 completed symphonies in m4a. Some are reserved, and I would like to add vocals to any of them, at some point, but in the meantime, why not see what they tell you?
The folder isn't ready, yet but, I'm working on it.
