Throwback VHS Mixtape Project by SoulSeesBest Coming to YouTube

The 90's style throwback to the MTV era of music, featuring the SoulSeesBest Universe, has begun rolling out on the Official YouTube Channel, @SoulSeesBestIDM.

While an obviously modern venture, the psychadelic visualizer, lower left song description and clever VHS static overlay stir nostalgia for the time when music videos ruled the airways.

"These aren't full on music videos but, I've been aware that lots of people are using YouTube as a sort of streaming service for music. I want people to be able to load up their favorite playlists of my music and just let it run in the background. I envision an art gallery showing style of event. I don't want this mixtape to overrun the music with visuals but, to simply compliment the sounds."

Without confirming it, the artist hinted at creating traditional music videos for each track but, as he is new to the genre, he wants to take his time exploring the new environment before taking any huge swings. As of Tuesday, 3 more singles have been loaded to the YouTube channel and set as Premieres, to coincide with their release to streaming platforms. 

"I'm not trying to date myself but, I feel like a product of the late 80's and early 90's. Those were my formative years so, I find the old school style of video production fun and nostalgic. One of the things I love most about the younger internet generations is that they have access to all of the previous generations of culture and media. I think more young people, in the 2020's have an appreciation for my generation than I had for, say, the 50's and 60's. So, hopefully, whether you remember the experience, or just appreciate the novelty, the VHS Mixtape project might be entertaining."

SoulSeesBest's second IDM Electronica release is scheduled for streaming this Saturday, September 20. He plans to create VHS style mixtapes for each collection of styles, as his catalogue fills out, but, for now, his focus is on the SoulSeesBest Universe Mix, a collection of every track released under the new project.
